'Godfather Of AI' Geoffrey Hinton Quits Google To Talk About Dangers Of Artificial Intelligence
Geoffrey Hinton, often called the ''Godfather of AI'' on Monday, confirmed that he quit his role at Google last week to speak out about the “dangers” of the technology he helped develop. In a statement to the New York Times, Mr Hinton, aged 75, announced his resignation from Google, saying he now regretted his work. Mr Hinton tweeted he has quit his job at Google, so he can freely speak out about the risks of AI. In his tweet, he said, "In the NYT today, Cade Metz implies that I left Google so that I could criticize Google. Actually, I left so that I could talk about the dangers of AI without considering how this impacts Google. Google has acted very responsibly." Source - NDTV
