    NASA Announces Artemis II Moon Mission Crew, Names First Woman, Black Astronauts

    The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) on Monday announced the four astronauts who will venture around the Moon on Artemis II, the first crewed mission on the American space agency's path to establishing a long-term presence at the Moon for science and exploration through Artemis.
    This is their crew, this is our crew, this is humanity's crew," said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson at the event.
    Christina Koch Christina Koch, an electrical engineer, who has been part of NASA's first three all-female spacewalks, was named as a mission specialist for the Artemis II lunar flyby expected as early as next year.
