    Uber driver donates kidney to passenger he met for the first time

    Some people go above and beyond to assist others, even strangers in difficult circumstances. One of them is Tim Letts, a veteran of the US Army who now drives for Uber. He gave his kidney to a traveler, Bill Sumiel, in the wake of meeting him interestingly.

Bill Sumiel (pictured right) and Uber driver Tim Letts (pictured left) discussed Sumiel's health issues during the car ride to the dialysis center. Tim Letts, an Uber driver, offered him his kidney and told him that "God put him in his car that day." Sumiel underwent successful surgery as a result of their match. Sumiel is recuperating at the University of Delaware's renal rehab center one year after the surgery. The caption that was included with the image reads, "Bill says he still keeps in touch with his forever friend who saved his life. Letts lives in Germany." Bill Sumiel first shared the image on his Facebook profile.
