Cadiz Club de Football, S.A.D., known simply as Cadiz, is a professional football club based in Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain. Founded in 1910, it plays in La Liga, holding home games at Estadio Ramon de Carranza, with a 20,724-seat capacity. Salvadoran legend Magico Gonzalez played for the club during the 1980s/1990s, and is widely recognized as the greatest player to have ever played for the team. Between 1929 and 1977, Cadiz either played in the second or third tier of Spanish football. In 1977, promotion to La Liga was achieved for the first time in the club’s history. Since then Cadiz has played twelve seasons in total in the first tier, as well as spending several in the second level.
