Climate change activists decolour Italy's famous fountain

Climate activists blackened the famed Trevi Fountain in Rome after pouring diluted charcoal into the water during a demonstration on Sunday. Protesting against climate change, seven activists from the "Ultima Generazione" ("Last Generation") group climbed into the famous fountain with banners that read "We won't pay for fossil (fuels)," and sloganeered, "Our country is dying".

Taking to Twitter, the group stated, "1 out of 4 houses in Italy is vulnerable to floods. How much longer do we have to wait for those in government to take concrete action?"

The police intervened and waded into the water to take the activists away, while bystanders and tourists filmed the demonstration. A video even showed that onlookers even insulted the climate activists and condemned their stunt. Watch.
