Rapidly growing black hole found, could provide clues on how massive galaxies first evolved: Study

One of the most extreme galaxies known to exist in the very early Universe has a fast-expanding black hole, according to astronomers from the Universities of Texas, the US, and Arizona.
The new work is published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
This was completely unexpected from previous data, the study said.
advertisement Endsley added, "While nobody expected to find this kind of object in the very early Universe, its discovery takes a step towards building a much better understanding of how billion solar mass black holes were able to form so early on in the lifetime of the Universe, as well as how the most massive galaxies first evolved."
