Japan's Seven & i Holdings to sell Sogo & Seibu unit to Fortress -sources
Japan's Seven & i Holdings Co Ltd has decided to sell its Sogo & Seibu department store unit to U.S. fund Fortress Investment Group, people familiar with the matter said on Friday. The people familiar with the matter said the buyer was the SoftBank Group Corp controlled fund. SoftBank did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Yodobashi representatives could not immediately be reached for comment. Seven & I shares were up 0.6% in Tokyo trading compared with a 2.7% jump in the benchmark Nikkei index.
