YouTube is now testing 5 unskippable ads, here is what you need to know

It seems that YouTube is now planning to place five ads on a video that will reportedly be unskippable. The platform is currently testing this to make it a reality soon. At the moment, the platform is showing only two unskippable advertisements, which is still bearable if you are a free user. But, it seems that five ads have irked many, as several users have expressed their disappointment on Twitter.

Following this, YouTube tweeted saying that this won't happen with all the videos and that the ads wouldn't be very long. The platform has confirmed that each ad will be 6 seconds and not more than that. This basically suggests that if there are five ads, then one will have to wait for approximately 30 seconds to continue watching a video on YouTube.

"This may happen with a certain type of ad format called bumper ads, since they are only up to 6 seconds long. If you'd like, you can send feedback directly from YouTube via the send feedback tool," YouTube said on Twitter.

    How to skip YouTube ads?
So, how can you watch YouTube videos without ads? Well, there are two ways. You can simply use Chrome's ad blocker extension on your desktop to avoid advertisements while watching videos. The second way is not at all free and you will have to spend your money, but this one comes with other benefits too.

People can buy the YouTube Premium subscription, which will cost you Rs 129 per month. The benefit of buying this subscription is that you will be able to enjoy YouTube videos without ads and even use YouTube Music app for free. This way you won't have to spend extra on any music streaming apps.

There is hardly any song that is not available on YouTube, which is an issue on some popular apps like Spotify or Saavan. A few songs are missing, so it is better to use Youtube Music and enjoy all the benefits without paying extra. People can listen to music or watch videos too in the same app. You also get the option to download videos, and check lyrics, among other things.

The YouTube premium membership also enables Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode for the videos that you watch on YouTube app, which is sometimes needed when you need to visit any other app for something.
