Twitter will let you edit your tweets, but there is a limit

People might soon be able to edit their tweets. Twitter has confirmed in its blog post that it is testing this feature to make this a reality for users. The platform has revealed that the feature is already being tested with a small group of people and that it will soon be rolled out. However, the edit feature won't be made available to everyone. Here's everything you need to know.

Twitter has revealed that it will soon let you edit tweets, but there will be a limit. First of all, people will only get 30 minutes of time to make changes to a tweet after publishing it. Additionally, the platform will only give five chances to edit each tweet and you will have to do that within the mentioned timeframe.

Moreover, anyone will easily get to know if you have edited your tweet. Twitter has confirmed that all the "Edited Tweets" will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label. "So it's clear to readers that the original Tweet has been modified. Tapping the label will take viewers to the Tweet's Edit History, which includes past versions of the Tweet," the company said.

However, the feature won't be available for everyone. Twitter has confirmed that the feature will first be visible to those who have a Twitter Blue subscription. At the moment, there is no confirmation when this will arrive to non-Blue subscribers too. The company did say that it has plans to expand the edit button feature to more regions as they learn more about how people are utilizing this feature. So, everyone will likely get it in the near future.

The disappointing part is that the Twitter Blue subscription feature is not available in India. The feature is only available in select countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It is currently unknown when this will arrive in other markets, including India.

In case you are unaware, the Twitter Blue subscription is basically a paid membership that includes exclusive access to premium features to offer a better experience of this social media platform. This is basically similar to how Telegram works. Just a few months back, the messaging platform launched a subscription-based service that will include some premium features such as support for uploading larger files, faster downloads, and more.
